Insulation Contractors in Nixa, Missouri

Nixa is about 13 miles south of our Springfield shop. It is almost entirely a residential market for us, and the enquiry is usually about a family home that will not hold temperature.

Houses, Not Buildings

What we are asked for in Nixa is consistently residential: spray foam generally, then attic, then walls, with some fiberglass and crawl space work. There is very little commercial in the mix compared with somewhere like Branson, and that is reflected in how we talk about the work here.

The practical version of that: most Nixa jobs are a family home where one or more rooms are uncomfortable, the bills have climbed, and nobody is certain which part of the building is responsible. Our job is to find out which, not to sell the most expensive product.

Two Storeys and the Room Over the Garage

A lot of the housing stock here is two-storey family homes, and two complaints come with that pattern. Upstairs bedrooms that overheat in summer, which usually points at the roof assembly and at ductwork running through a very hot attic. And the bonus room or bedroom over the garage, which is the single most frequently under-insulated space in any house.

A room above a garage is surrounded by unconditioned air on more sides than any other room: cold or hot air below it, often an exterior wall on two or three sides, and frequently a knee wall into the attic. It is almost never insulated properly, and it is one of the more satisfying things to fix because the occupant notices immediately.

Finding the Cause Before Quoting a Cure

We do not quote from a phone description. One room being uncomfortable can be an attic problem, a wall problem, a crawl space problem, a duct problem, or simply a closed register. Several of those are not insulation jobs at all, and we would rather tell you that than take money for work that will not change anything.

The Rooms People Call Us About

The upstairs bedroom nobody can sleep in from June to September. The bonus room over the garage that is a different climate from the rest of the house. The floor above an unconditioned crawl space that is cold under your feet all winter. The office or finished attic space with a knee wall nobody insulated behind.

All four have a common thread: they border unconditioned space, and the boundary was never properly sealed or insulated. That is a solvable problem, and it is usually smaller and cheaper than people fear.

Nixa questions

What Nixa homeowners ask

Our upstairs is unbearable in summer. What fixes it?

Usually the roof assembly plus the ductwork running through the attic. An attic here can exceed 130 degrees in August while the air conditioning pushes cold air through ducts sitting in it. Sealing and insulating the roof deck brings those ducts inside the envelope.

The room over our garage is always too hot or too cold. Is that normal?

It is extremely common and it is fixable. That room has unconditioned space on more sides than any other, usually including a knee wall into the attic, and it is almost never insulated properly when the house is built.

Do I need the whole house done?

Often not. If one or two areas are the problem, we will quote those areas. We will also tell you if the cause is not insulation at all, which happens more often than you might expect.

Can you tell me the price over the phone?

Not honestly. The same symptom has several different causes with very different costs, so we come out, find the actual cause and give you a written figure. The visit and the estimate are free.

How long does a typical Nixa job take?

Most single-area residential jobs are done in a day. Whole-house work and anything involving removal of old material is scheduled with a timeline on the estimate up front.

Got one room that never feels right?

We will find out which part of the building is responsible before quoting anything.
